The Public Works Department has 120 employees, the largest city department. The average public works employee has been with the City for 12 years.

This department is headed by the Public Works Director who oversees all the divisions within the department. There are six divisions each headed by their own Superintendent. The six divisions are as follows:

• Building Inspection Division

• Equipment Maintenance Division

• Engineering Division

• Street and Sewer Maintenance Division

• Traffic Maintenance Division

• Water Polution Control Division
